Goggle girl...

Well as you can tell by the picture, Isabella has found her swimming goggles this morning and refused to take them off. She even got to the point where they fogged up beyond seeing through and yet she still wouldn't take them off. You can imagine the ring she had around her eyes when they were finally removed?

Today I got my 4 new tyres put on my car and WOW what a difference they make. Just driving home from the tyre place was a much more pleasureable experience and the car now drives in a straight line on it's own?

Well I hope everyone got to see the eclipse of the moon tonight? Once the cloud finally moved, the moon had this eerie yet fascinating red glow to it.  The sunset was pretty impressive as well.

Not much happening...

Well not much has been happening the last few days. Mainly just enjoying this gorgeous weather which is set to continue tomorrow being the forcast to reach 25? As much as winter is my favourite season, getting some sun and warm weather back makes for a welcomed change.

We are off to playgroup tomorrow morning and as father's day is next weekend, we are making all the dads some photo frames containing pictures of the kids. I'm not sure who is looking forward to it more, Isabella or myself?

Tuesday I am off to get 4 new tyres on my car. Looking forward to a better ride and not having to fight the steering wheel as I will be getting a wheel alignment at the same time. Very overdue...

This morning Brett went to the Sandown Swap Meet and came home with a little surprise for me. I have always wanted an old mantle clock (one that preferably works), and this morning he walked in the door with one. He won't tell me how much of HIS car money he spent, but we wound it up and it has managed to keep the correct time all day and has a lovely antiquey chime on the hour with a little chime every half hour. About one and a half years ago Brett went to the same swap meet and came home with a mantle clock that didn't work, (Because it was missing most of the mechanics inside.) hoping that we could some how fix it and get it back in working order. This never happened but over the time has made a lovely ornament. Thanks hun...

Tonight I managed to complete another scrapping page. Not as good as some, but getting there slowly. There are so many pages and ideas in my head that I could do that I don't know where to start? I thought it was time for a change though as all my previous pages have been on the girls.

Hope all are well.

footy update...

Hi mum and dad,

Here is the latest footy news. Mum, you will be happy to know that Collingwood beat Sydney at the MCG, but unfortunately dad Geelongs winning streak came to an end this afternoon JUST. With 7 seconds to go, Port Adelaide kicked a goal and won by 5 points. We shouldn't complain as we did make 15 in a row, but lets just say a few tears were shed all round with the close loss :(  There is still one more game to go this evening, but it looks like we will get 6 maybe 7 in the footy tips.

P.S - The weather here is fantastic. Yesterday it got to at least 21 and today the thermometer said 25 with another great day on the way tomorrow as well. Don't mean to rub it in :)

Love you both

Spring is in the air...

Well the sun is out and so is the blossom on my plum tree. Yesterday being such a beautiful day, the girls, dogs and I ventured out into the garden to enjoy the weather when I noticed that my plum tree was in full bloom and couldn't resist taking a photo of the gorgeous flowers.

Isabella enjoyed herself yesterday playing and blowing bubbles. She seems to have the hang of it and does a really good job of getting those bubbles to work until she accidently tipped the remaining bubble mixture onto the ground. Luckily this was towards the end of the play and that there wasn't much left in the bottle. She handled the situation like a trooper. Thank goodness. :)

Poor Isabella wasn't too well yesterday. We were on our way to playgroup when I looked into the mirror and saw her bring all her breakfast up. For some reason she always manages to do this in the car? I spent the next 2 hours hosing clothes and the car seat and doing loads of washing with disinfectant so that this bug hopefully won't return in a hurry. Luckily it was nice weather and the car had a chance to sit with all the windows open and air all day. Brett and I are now just patiently waiting for our turn.

Piper also loved playing outside. The swing has come out again and as you can see she loved playing in the car. The only problem is that they can't both fit in, but Isabella was quite happy pushing Piper around. It was lovely to see them both playing so nicely together. Lets just hope they continue to do so???

Auf Weidersein.

Party time...

I now know why they say do not work with kids. Especially when it comes to photography...

Today while both my girls were nicely dressed for a party, I decided it would be a great time to get a couple of photo's of them together. Uh Ahhhhh, it wasn't going to happen today. This was the best I could do, 2 x single shots. When Piper was camera happy Isabella didn't want to get into the shot and when Isabella finally decided "Yep I want a photo with my sister", Piper was over the whole idea and didn't want any part in it. Oh well, will try again another day.

Today the girls attended Katelyn's 1st Birthday party at Lollipops play centre. All the kids had a great time running a muck.

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY KATELYN :)

Footy Update:

Well we had a good week with the footy tips as we all managed to get 7 out of 8. Collingwood beat Melbourne by 11 points and Geelong won their 15th game in a row beating Kangaroos by 27 points. Lets hope we can keep this going long enough to actually win a grand final hey dad??? As they say "It aint over til the fat lady sings" and she aint singing just yet.

Love you both.

My little superhero...

Today Isabella decided to become a superhero. But not just any old superhero, a superhero that doesn't wear pants! She found this pretty piece of ribbon in her toy box which daddy then thought would be fun to tie it around her eyes and then taught her to say "Up up and away" and "Captain Flamingo" (this is a cartoon that we watch in the mornings). So you can imagine what we have heard all day.  I then sprung her in my bedroom performing this in front of the mirror. I must say it was very cute.

p8180004a.jpg

We started off with a rough morning this morning.  I walked into Piper's room around 7am and was hit with a not so nice smell and was a little scared to turn on the light. My poor little munchkin was sick in her bed and needed to have a shower with her dad. We then did a very silly thing and gave her a bit of breakfast as she was grizzling for it, and you can imagine what happened next. Yep, another bath. Of course all this had to happen 10 minutes before we were due to walk out the door. Isabella also looked a little pale this morning but luckily they both perked up as the day went on and ended up having a great day playing together. The TV didn't go on once with Barney or Hi-5 which made for a welcomed change.

As some of you may already know, I have recently bought myself a sewing machine and an overlocker, and I am trying to find the time and courage to make a bowling shirt for Brett. We managed to find some material at Spotlight which has a tiki design on it, but I am a bit worried that I am going to majorly stuff it up. Hence why I keep putting off starting it.  Brett has soooo much faith in me though that he has started telling his mates who have already started to place their orders. NO PRESSURE...  Once I have completed it and depending on the out come, I might post a picture of the finished product.

Well that's about it for the moment.

Lots 'O' Love

My One and Only...

My one and only daffodil has arrived. Dad and I were discussing before they went away that our daffodils weren't producing any flowers as the bulbs were probably too old. But I finally got one. I think after this winter I might need to replace all my daffodil bulbs as I probably won't get any next year.

Family Update;

Brett spent most of last weekend fixing our fallen down fence. I must say he did a fantastic job as the fence is the best it has been since we have been in the house. No chance of it going any where in a hurry.

Both Isabella and Piper have rotten colds. Their poor little noses can't take much more as they are glowing red with all the wiping. On top if this Piper is getting another lot of teeth, so you can imagine how irritable she is at the moment. Oh yay :)

Well our baby is walking. Over the past few days Piper has discovered her feet and is pretty much trying to walk every where. Yesterday she walked from Bella's room all the way to her toy kitchen in the playroom. Mind you she did use the wall for support where possible, but remained on her feet the entire time which I think is a job well done. Isabella started really walking at 14 months, so they are not far off each other as Piper is now 13 months.

Isabella went swimming last night and her teacher is starting to get her ready for the next level as she will be going up next term. She absolutely loves the pool, which is not always a good thing as sometimes we have a little trouble getting her out.

Well that's about it at the moment.

Bad things come in 3's...

p8110041a.jpg

Well I noticed that Helen has just listed all the bad things that have happened to her recently and now it is obviously our turn. It started yesterday when the winds picked up, and while saying good-bye to a friend I noticed that our side fence out the front was happily swaying in the wind. Brett decided to leave it until today to repair, but when he returned home at gone 12am last night, he noticed that he couldn't get into the garage as it had decided to completely come down and block the driveway. YAY :(   He has managed to bracket the 3 broken posts to the driveway and plans on finishing the rest tomorrow (as long as no one steals the fallen down fence for fire wood overnight?) and thinks my dad would be proud of the job he has done. But I guess we just have to wait and see if the fence is still standing by the time dad gets back from his holidays. hehehe

While Brett was mending our damaged fence today, I noticed our delightful dog Boris had vomited blood twice on the rug. As you can imagine being an ex Vet Nurse I started to panic and rushed him to the vet expecting the worst but was quite releaved to find out that he probably only has a gastro bug, and the strain from vomiting has possibly burst a blood vessel in his stomach. Either that or he has managed to eat a small amount of rat bait which we don't think was possible but have medicated him for that as well just to be safe.

As these things nearly always come in 3's, we are patiently waiting for the next thing to go wrong. Let's just hope that it is something easy to fix.

 *******************************************************************

On a happier note I added a picture of Piper eating her dinner the other night. She managed to get herself in a lovely mess but at least she enjoyed her meal unlike her sister who didn't eat 5 dinners in a row. Not even her favourite being 2 minute noodles???

7 Random things about me...

My sister Helen has tagged me to post 7 random things about myself. Hmmmm where to start?

1.  I am a natural red head. Since I can remember I hated my red hair but was disappointed that neither of my girls were born with it. Not many people know this as I have dyed it since I don't know when.

2.  When I was young I always wanted to be a Zoo Keeper. I tried to get my school work experience there but unfortunately had no luck as they apparently get bombarded with applicants as you could imagine.

3.  I LOVE to travel. Since I went on my first overseas trip at age 6, I have had the travel bug and just can't get enough. There are just too many places I would love to explore, but at the moment will stick to exploring motherhood.

4.  I have this burning desire to live somewhere in Canada for approx. 1 - 2 years. Maybe somewhere like Quebec as it has to snow in winter. My husband thinks I'm crazy but I would pack up in an instant if he gave the OK.

5.  I too smoked like my sister. I started when I was 15 as I thought it was COOL and finally quit at the age of 20. I might not have smoked for long, but when I left school I was smoking upto 25 a day and sometimes even more on the weekends. I love the smell of a burning cigarette now, but I had a drag of one a few years ago and it made me feel so ill that I don't think I would ever try one again.

6.  My favourite place to eat out is a little Turkish restaurant in Mentone called "Guzel Istanbul". If you are ever in the area and are looking for a great feast, you must give them a try. Brett introduced me to them approx. 6 years ago and I just can't get enough of it. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm

7.  I miss my mum and dad.  They have only been away 2 weeks of their 3 month journey and I didn't think I would miss them this much so soon, but I often pick up the phone to give them a call and then realise that they are not home. I'm sure the next few months will fly by and next thing I know we will be heading to the airport to pick them up. (I hope you guys are having a great time :)

Well there you go. 7 things that some of you may not have already known about me.

Hot Rodding with daddy...

p7290008a.jpg

As it was a beautiful afternoon on Sunday we thought that we should make the most of the weather and got both the cars out for a little run. Isabella was so excited to go around the block in the EK with mummy, so you can imagine the squeals when she went around the block in the hot rod with daddy. Even Piper went for a ride down the court in the hot rod and squealed with delight. Brett is so happy that both the girls are broken like us and love the cars.

p7290017a.jpg

p7290010a.jpg

On a sader note, Brett's grandfather passed away on Tuesday morning from a chest infection but lived to 92 years of age which I think is a pretty good effort.  The funeral is being held on Friday which we will all be attending including the kids.
